Meditation Voiceover Videos
I know some people find beginning meditation to be really hard. I did too! Now I couldn’t go without it. I find a noticeable difference in my mood, my day, my patience and the state of my nervous system when I get in my morning meditation vs if I end up skipping a day (you don’t wanna be around me in that case!) I’ve come to think of the benefits of meditation as extremely regulating and grounding for my nervous system, which I think can be a helpful way to frame your thinking if you’re someone who is struggling to develop the habit. Rather than worrying about whether your mind actually stops thinking (which it NEVER will), think about the benefits that are scientifically proven to be happening to your body and mind and that will accumulate over time.
Another key trick to beginning meditation is to listen to guided meditations rather than trying to do it all yourself. I particularly enjoy ones that incorporate sound, ideally sound bowls or some form of binaural beats. I tend to lie down super cozy under my covers in bed, one hand on my heart and one on my belly. I put on my noise-canceling headphones, close my eyes and play the track. I listen to the teacher and usually also use a mantra, but this is totally optional. When it’s the right voice, I find I’m able to sink deeply into a meditative state. When the audio is amazing quality, it sounds so fantastic through a good pair of noise-canceling headphones and you’re really able to tune everything else out for a little bit.
I also use meditation to help me sleep every night. This has been an absolute game-changer for me, a person who has always struggled with some insomnia. I do a guided sleep meditation nightly and usually fall asleep with my headphones on! Again, the importance of the voice guiding you and the quality of the audio is paramount here.
I love meditation so much that I’ve begun recording my own short meditations to share with the world every Monday to help bring a little piece and grounding into everyone’s days. Please take a tiny moment to listen and get a break from the chaos of daily life.
